SP initiated SSO - Website or Web application

From the example given from ComponentSpace, am i right to assume setup Idp is better to use as a web application rather than website?

Hi Pay,
Our example projects are web applications which I think is the preferred approach these days. However, you can use a website instead if you prefer. This doesn’t affect how you use our product. You’d make the same SAML API calls from your application code etc.
