Getting 'The message is not an HTTP POST' when using Azure AD as Identity Provider

Hi,

I have implemented Component Space ADFS SSO to my application, it works fine for locally created ADFS server and used as Identity Provider but getting error when using Azure AD as Identity provider. It redirects to Azure AD Login page and after successfully login, it returns to my application with this error message ‘The Message is not an HTTP POST’.

Should i change any configuration to my Azure AD or it may be an issue of wrong configuration in my Application?

Please Help…

Thanks.

It sounds like there is some sort of configuration issue.

I found this post while searching for entries with the same problem/topic "The message is not an HTTP POST" when configuring SSO and Azure. I have enabled the SAML trace as suggested above and everything appears to be fine until right after I see the following entries in the log:
4/16/2020 11:22:38 AM: Receiving response over HTTP POST
4/16/2020 11:22:38 AM: HTTP request:
GET /SSO/SAML2/AssertionConsumerService.aspx HTTP/1.1
....
Exception: ComponentSpace.SAML2.Exceptions.SAMLBindingException: The message is not an HTTP POST. .....

Any suggestions as to what next step I should consider?

Thank you,

The SAML response is sent in an HTTP Post. If we receive an HTTP Get etc we throw this exception.

I suggest using the browser developer tools (F12) to capture the network traffic to see what’s going on. After logging in at the IdP, you should see an HTTP Post being sent to your assertion consumer service URL. Hopefully looking at the network traffic will shed light on the issue.

If you’re not sure what’s happening, you’re welcome to save the network traffic to a HAR file and send this to support@componentspace.com.

Hi I am getting this error with Azure ad. I am getting http GET response. How did you manage to resolve this issue ?

Azure AD sends the SAML response in an HTTP Post as per the SAML specification.
